Waverly-Shell Rock scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Marion Wolves by a score of 13-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Go-Hawks of the 15-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2016.

Waverly-Shell Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Marion, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Coming up, Waverly-Shell Rock will take on Central DeWitt at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Clear Creek-Amana at 5:00 p.m.
