Basketball Recap: College Prep & Leadership Academy Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

College Prep & Leadership Academy waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Piedmont Classical Bobcats 69-52. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Bobcats are ranked 445th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

College Prep & Leadership Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrie Pressley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Pressley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Frazier, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

College Prep & Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Piedmont Classical lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Christian Daye, who posted 12 points. Jalen Ferrell was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Piedmont Classical, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
