Baseball Recap: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Comes Up Short

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-4 to the Niskayuna Silver Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silver Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 two weeks ago.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Niskayuna, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Niskayuna could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Spartans will take on Shaker at 4:15 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (270 vs. 2). Meanwhile, Niskayuna (ranked 110th) will meet Colonie Central (ranked sixth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
