Basketball Game Preview: U-32 Raiders vs. Montpelier Solons

U-32 hasn't had much luck against Montpelier recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The U-32 Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Montpelier Solons at 7:00 p.m.

U-32 is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Harwood, falling 83-47. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Highlanders are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Montpelier had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. They breezed by the Wildcats to the tune of 81-33. The Solons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Montpelier's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points over those games. As for U-32, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

U-32 was taken down by Montpelier 99-44 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Montpelier's Atif Milak, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.
