Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Decatur). They blew past the Crawford County Wolfpack 49-16 at home on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-0.
It was another big night for Corbin Johnson, who rushed for 107 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defending a pass. Corey Nugent made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
South Decatur's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Garrett Huckelberry and Nugent. That's the most rushing yards Huckelberry has posted since back in August of 2023.
