The Fremont Silverwolves will face off against the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Fremont's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They didn't even let Bonneville on the board, marking Fremont's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Silverwolves haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Adam Mikesell was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Kasen Pearson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Fremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonneville only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Copper Hills fell victim to Westlake and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Thunder, falling 8-0. The Grizzlies just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Copper Hills also got a good showing from Romeo Duron, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Duron has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Copper Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kooper Beebe, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Beebe a new career-high.
Copper Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Fremont, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Copper Hills' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fremont hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Copper Hills, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Fremont's hitters?
Everything went Fremont's way against Copper Hills when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Fremont made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fremont since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
