Recap: St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse vs. Pomeroy Pirates
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Pomeroy, falling 75-19. St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse has struggled against Pomeroy recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Jett Slusser, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Oliver Severs, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Pomeroy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oakesdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Oakesdale will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Pomeroy, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Pomeroy is ranked 97th).
