Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Baptist Mustangs vs. North Star Huskies

Centennial Baptist is 0-3 against North Star since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Centennial Baptist Mustangs will take on the North Star Huskies in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Centennial Baptist was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-49 to Idaho City.

Centennial Baptist might have lost, but man, Caleb West was a machine: he went 6 of 8 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Kolb, who posted ten points and six steals.

Meanwhile, North Star lost to Notus on the road by a 64-47 margin on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for North Star and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Centennial Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Centennial Baptist was taken down by North Star 61-29 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Centennial Baptist, Max Wheeler (who went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points along with six boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
