Russell waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Minneapolis Lions as they made off with a 16-1 victory. That's the first time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-2 victory on Tuesday.

Mason Rohr made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rohr was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Russell's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Sam Thielen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He has become a key player for Russell: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

Russell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in five consecutive games.

Russell's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Minneapolis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Minneapolis will challenge Lyons on Thursday. Russell will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' contest: after the Lions face off against Republic County, they'll take on Russell again.
