Baseball Recap: Las Vegas Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Las Vegas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Coronado Cougars by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past JOSEPH PONTICELLO, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Coronado off the board. PONTICELLO has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Las Vegas saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TANNER VIBABUL, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits VIBABUL has posted since back in March.

Las Vegas' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Coronado, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-16.

Las Vegas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
