Baseball Recap: Duchesne Comes Up Short

Duchesne and Milford squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Duchesne had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Nashden Goodliffe was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Duchesne's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Connor Karren was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Duchesne has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Milford, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-11 record.
