Baseball Recap: Vienna Takes a Loss

Vienna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Massac County Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in April.

Vienna saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ethridge, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple.

Vienna now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Massac County, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Vienna will challenge Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vienna is facing Eldorado at the right time seeing as Eldorado is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Massac County, they will square off against St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
