Baseball Game Preview: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Palisade Bulldogs

The Palmer Ridge Bears will challenge the Palisade Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palisade took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmer Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Palmer Ridge not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024. They blew past Grand Junction Central 11-3.

The team relied heavily on Fletcher Sexton, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Zach Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Palisade came up short against Ponderosa on Friday and fell 14-11. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly three runs.

Dylon Larson led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hunter Howard, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Palisade's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Palmer Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Palmer Ridge suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Palisade in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Palmer Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
