Basketball Game Preview: Granby Comets vs. Manor Mustangs

Granby is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Manor is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Granby Comets will host the Manor Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Granby will bounce into Friday's match after beating Maury, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Granby blew past Maury, posting a 75-47 victory. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Manor hadn't done well against Norview recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Manor breezed by Norview to the tune of 94-27. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Pilots are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Granby has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Manor, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
