Baseball Recap: Triton Starts off Right with Win over Gray's Creek

Triton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Gray's Creek Bears on Monday as the Triton Hawks made off with a 6-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Isaac Bennett tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Chase Sewell was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zach Roberson, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Coming up, Triton will face off against Cape Fear at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gray's Creek, they will take on Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
