League recap: Cook's hitting boosts Golden West

West Yosemite league recap: 3/27/13

Tanner Cook had the hottest bat in West Yosemite this week, racking up a .409 average, three home runs and 14 RBIs. Golden West compiled a record of 5-1 in that time.

Thomas Dunehew was the top pitcher in the league this week, leading the Trailblazers. Over the past week, he racked up two wins and ten strikeouts.

Hanford West had a league-high 28 steals as a team this week, but still trails Hanford, which has 29 on the year, for the season lead.

After picking up two wins and ten strikeouts this week, Dunehew now leads the league in both categories.

14 batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Flo Perez, who hit .647 this week (11-for-17).



Cook was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in four runs during Golden West's 13-5 win over Morro Bay. He went 1-for-4 and scored one run.

Josh Moisa threw a shutout as he led Mt. Whitney to victory over East Bakersfield, 17-0, on Saturday. He struck out 13, allowing two hits.
