Football Game Preview: Corcoran Cougars vs. Auburn Maroons

The Corcoran Cougars will challenge the Auburn Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Corcoran is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Saturday, Corcoran didn't have too much trouble with Henninger as they won 28-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Black Knights are ranked 418th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Auburn, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 46-22 margin over Watertown on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Maroons, who have now won three matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Corcoran's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Auburn, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.

Everything went Corcoran's way against Auburn in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Corcoran made off with a 38-12 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
