Baseball Game Preview: Northern Lehigh Bulldogs vs. Catasauqua Rough Riders

The Northern Lehigh Bulldogs will face off against the Catasauqua Rough Riders at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Northern Lehigh made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Southern Lehigh, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since March 25th.

Connor Simms was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Buskirk, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Catasauqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to Bangor.

Catasauqua saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Collazo, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Collazo's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Northern Lehigh and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Catasauqua, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Northern Lehigh skirted past Catasauqua 10-8 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rough Riders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
