Two dominant signal callers in Isaac Repscher and Keller Stocks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Taylorville Tornadoes will welcome the Mt. Zion Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Taylorville sitting on three straight victories and Mt. Zion on five.
Taylorville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 57-14 win over Charleston. With the Tornadoes ahead 42-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Taylorville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Spencer Brown, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Those 112 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Ladage, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion got the win against Effingham on Friday by a conclusive 31-7. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 24 points or more this season.
Taylorville better keep an eye on Kellen Bollhorst. He was instrumental in Mt. Zion's win, rushing for 164 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 51 receiving yards.
Mt. Zion didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Effingham to a completion percentage of just 28.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Brody Lipa, Will Moore, and Landyn Morrow, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Mt. Zion; they were averaging 60.8%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 60.8%.
Mt. Zion's defense didn't let Jaxon Bridges, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Kalvin Becker refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Mt. Zion's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Taylorville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Taylorville has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 447.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Mt. Zion struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 389.3 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
