North Creek is 8-2 against Newport - Bellevue since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Jaguars will take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. North Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
North Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Richland, who was ranked first at the time (North Creek was ranked fifth). The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Bombers 6-5 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Reagan Fleming made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Fleming was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Addy Cook was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Paige Geller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newport - Bellevue). They blew past Hazen 32-8 on Friday. Considering the Knights have won eight matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Newport - Bellevue got a massive performance out of Demi Brown- Ruegg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and one double. Brown- Ruegg has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Blank, who went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Newport - Bellevue kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
North Creek pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Newport - Bellevue, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Newport - Bellevue's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. North Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Newport - Bellevue, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will North Creek keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
North Creek took their win against Newport - Bellevue in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
