Football Recap: DePaul College Prep Comes Up Short + How To Watch

DePaul College Prep had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They were beaten by the Carmel Corsairs 54-14. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Corsairs are ranked 28th).

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Stewart, who rushed for 73 yards and one score on only eight carries.

As for Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Considering they have won four contests by more than 38 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Trae Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 431 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 52 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jorden Moore, who gained 139 total yards and three touchdowns.

Coming up, DePaul College Prep will be playing at home against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carmel, they will head out to take on Loyola Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
