Baseball Recap: Lynn Camp Comes Up Short

Lynn Camp suffered their biggest defeat since March 20th on Thursday. They came up short against the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls, falling 12-2. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Owls / Lady Owls from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Lynn Camp saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Curry, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Curry is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-2 (and 2-12 when he doesn't). Ethan Simpson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lynn Camp's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Owsley County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynn Camp will venture away from home to face off against Red Bird at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Owsley County, they will head out on the road to challenge Buckhorn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.42 runs per game on average), something the Owls / Lady Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of.
