Baseball Recap: Antonito Drops Season-High Score on Non Varsity Opponent

Antonito was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Trojans' highest-scoring game to date.

Rylan Trant and Lucas Cordova stepped up to the plate in a big way. Trant scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Cordova went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Trant is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Everett Holloway was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Antonito's loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Antonito is taking a road trip to take on La Veta at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-3 defeat against Asheville School (Independent) on the 14th.
