Soccer Game Preview: Cedar Creek vs. Bastrop

Cedar Creek hasn't had much luck against Bastrop recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cedar Creek Eagles will challenge the Bastrop Bears at 7:45 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Cedar Creek turned things around against Crockett on Friday. They never let the Cougars onto the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Meanwhile, Bastrop didn't have quite enough to beat Richards School for Young Women Leaders on Friday and fell 2-1.

Cedar Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Bastrop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Cedar Creek beat Bastrop by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedar Creek since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
