Basketball Recap: Quinten Koenen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Platte over Hemingford

On Friday, the South Platte Blue Knights were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-55 to the Hemingford Bobcats.

Several Blue Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinten Koenen, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Joshua Estrada, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

South Platte's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hemingford, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Platte has already played their next match (against Arthur County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hemingford will welcome Edgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Edgemont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
