Recap: School of the Woods Wildcats vs. Humble Christian Cougars
After a string of four wins, the School of the Woods Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 37-9 loss at the hands of Humble Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points School of the Woods has scored all season.
Humble Christian was led to victory by Abby Bledsoe and Kelly Paulk. Bledsoe scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Paulk dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Paulk has scored at least a third of Humble Christian's points.
School of the Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Humble Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
School of the Woods will head out on the road to take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 23.4 points per game this season, so School of the Woods' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Humble Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Lighthouse HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Lighthouse HomeSchool is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
