The Providence Day Chargers will head out to take on the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Providence Day will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Charlotte Country Day School on Thursday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Buccaneers. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Rachel Lyons made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Audrey Glosson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elle Sigg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons.
North Raleigh Christian Academy got a big performance out of Ainsley Thomas, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Harmsen, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Providence Day pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday.
