Basketball Game Preview: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Noble Bears

The Guthrie Bluejays will head out to face off against the Noble Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Guthrie and five for Noble.

Back in December of 2024, Guthrie might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Bishop Kelley an easy 74-48 win. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Comets are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Noble was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-48 to Bridge Creek.

Noble's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Guthrie, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Guthrie couldn't quite finish off Noble when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 50-48. Can Guthrie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
