Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors vs. Dallas Lutheran Lions
The Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dallas Lutheran 63-15 at home. Cornerstone Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 35 points or more this season.
Cornerstone Christian Academy was led to victory by Jasmine Nordstrom and Maddye Hornsby. Nordstrom scored 16 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, while Hornsby scored 26 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Nordstrom posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Genna Welch, who scored four points along with six steals.
Cornerstone Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.27 points. As for Dallas Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Gorman will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Dallas Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Yavneh Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th.
