Football Recap: Loch Raven Takes a Loss

Loch Raven lost against Sparrows Point back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders took an 18-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pointers. Despite 144 more yards than the Pointers, the Raiders couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Loch Raven lost, don't look at Cai Perry. Despite the final result, he threw for 208 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

Mikey Maynor produced another solid performance rushing for 132 yards and one score on only 15 carries for Sparrows Point. Maynor's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 132 rushing yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Loch Raven and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Sparrows Point, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Loch Raven is taking a road trip to square off against Chesapeake at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sparrows Point, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Eastern Tech at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pointers 6, the Mavericks 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
