Soccer Game Preview: Jasper vs. Evansville Memorial

Jasper is 1-9 against Evansville Memorial since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wildcats will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Jasper is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Bloomington South on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Jasper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Bloomington South are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evansville Memorial). They never let Evansville Bosse get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering Evansville Memorial have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Evansville Bosse from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Ozone Satsaksit led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-2. As for Evansville Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Jasper suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Evansville Memorial when the teams last played back in August. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
