Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evangelical Christian). Everything went their way against the IMG Academy White Ascenders on Saturday as the Evangelical Christian Sentinels made off with a 16-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sentinels.

Easton Mauler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Cabrera, who scored four runs and stole Six bases. while going 2-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Harlan Haugen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Evangelical Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Evangelical Christian's record now sits at 8-6. As for IMG Academy White, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Evangelical Christian and IMG Academy White could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Evangelical Christian (ranked 334th) will meet Merritt Island (ranked 88th) at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, IMG Academy White will challenge Parrish Community at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 302 places (367 vs. 65).
