Softball Recap: Westover Comes Up Short

Westover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Overhills Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 last Tuesday.

Kelis Barfield was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydni Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Overhills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Westover is set to face off against their familiar foe Terry Sanford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Overhills will challenge rival Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
