On Friday, Encinal was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Hayward.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Alameda on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Berkeley out of the water with a 68-39 final score. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 490th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alameda is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
