Basketball Recap: Shalhevet Comes Up Short

Shalhevet suffered their biggest loss since February 3, 2024 on Saturday. 2025 welcomed they with a 54-33 loss courtesy of the Oxnard Yellowjackets. The Firehawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Shalhevet's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Oxnard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Shalhevet will challenge Price at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oxnard, they will venture away from home to face off against Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pacifica knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Oxnard likes a good challenge.
