Baseball Recap: Hartford Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nicolet on Wednesday, Hartford came back down to earth. The Orioles fell just short of the West Bend West Spartans by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Brady Helms made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hartford has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for West Bend West, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2-1.

Looking ahead, Hartford will face off against Oconomowoc at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Bend West, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Port Washington at 4:45 p.m. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
