Basketball Recap: Carter Jude Key Part of a Team Effort in Pirates Win

There's no place like home for Belfry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 62-49 victory over the Mingo Central Miners on Saturday. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 55-43 win the Miners walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Belfry's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Jude, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Little, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Belfry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Belfry's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Mingo Central, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Belfry will challenge East Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mingo Central, they will head out to take on Phelps at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Phelps' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
