Soccer Game Preview: James Lick vs. Leland

James Lick is 0-4 against Leland since January of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The James Lick Comets will be playing at home against the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

James Lick's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Prospect out 1-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Alfredo Soreque, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Leland's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Del Mar. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 796th, while the Dons are ranked 113th).

The win made it two in a row for Leland and bumps their season record up to 2-4-1. As for James Lick, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
