Basketball Game Preview: Canal Winchester Indians vs. Lancaster Golden Gales

The Canal Winchester Indians will challenge the Lancaster Golden Gales at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Canal Winchester will be strutting in after a victory while Lancaster will be coming in after a loss.

Lancaster will be up against a hot Canal Winchester squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Canal Winchester came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-60 W against Dublin Scioto.

Meanwhile, Lancaster came up short against Bishop Watterson on Tuesday and fell 56-47. While losing is never fun, the Golden Gales can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Eagles are ranked 81st).

Lancaster dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Canal Winchester, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Canal Winchester was able to grind out a solid victory over Lancaster in their previous meeting back in January, winning 63-56. Will Canal Winchester repeat their success, or does Lancaster have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
