Baseball Recap: Scotland County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Scotland County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Clark County Indians by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carter Clatt was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vincent Dale, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Scotland County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Scotland County's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Clark County, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Coming up, Scotland County will challenge La Plata at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clark County, they will host Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
