Softball Recap: Potts Camp's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Potts Camp entered their tilt with Strayhorn on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 last Tuesday.

Alyssa Clifton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.

In other batting news, Zoey Clark was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlie Holmes, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Potts Camp kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Potts Camp's record now sits at 8-1. As for Strayhorn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potts Camp will welcome Thrasher at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Potts Camp is facing Thrasher at the right time seeing as Thrasher is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Strayhorn, they will host Hickory Flat at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
