Basketball Recap: Stayton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stayton can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hidden Valley Mustangs by a score of 56-53 on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Stayton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Hidden Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Stayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hidden Valley, they will head out to challenge Crook County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crook County will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Hidden Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
