Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gateway Olympians.

Despite the defeat, Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hawa Gueye almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave Gueye a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oshalaya Davis, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Gateway, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Lincoln nor Gateway have any future games scheduled.
