Barker is 0-10 against Wilson since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakemen at 4:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Barker came up short against Albion and fell 7-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Barker saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Munn, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That hit marked the first that Munn has got this season.
Meanwhile, Wilson fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Albion on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Purple Eagles by a score of 4-3. The loss leaves the Lakemen still looking for their first win of the season.
Tyler Johnston put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Johnston was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Luke Howard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.
Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Barker, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Barker has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
