Basketball Game Preview: East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] vs. Fremont-Mills Knights

Last Tuesday, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-36 to Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson]. While East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson] 8-2 in the first quarter.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] might have lost, but man, Lizzie Schlueter was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Schlueter's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rainy Nordhausen, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Fremont-Mills blew past Essex, posting a 56-7 victory.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Fremont-Mills, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] took a serious blow against Fremont-Mills in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 64-17. Can East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
