Meanwhile, Archbishop McCarthy came up short against NSU University on Friday and fell 52-41. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Sharks are ranked 111th).

Archbishop McCarthy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Key West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Things could have been worse for Key West, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-45 loss to Archbishop McCarthy in their previous meeting back in January.
