Softball Recap: Evansville Central Wins Going Away Against Evansville Harrison

Evansville Central's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Evansville Harrison Warriors. Considering the Bears have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Katelyn Peterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Evansville Central got a massive performance out of Aubrie Durham, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Durham a new career-high. Danika Dix was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Evansville Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Evansville Central back to even at 5-5. As for Evansville Harrison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evansville Central will welcome Southridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Evansville Harrison, they will be playing at home against South Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
