Baseball Recap: Swansboro Takes a Loss

Swansboro was the 18-10 winner over East Carteret when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Swansboro Pirates fell just short of the East Carteret Mariners by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday.

Patrick Hollifield made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Swansboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for East Carteret, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swansboro will square off against West Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bladen will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Swansboro surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Carteret, they will be playing at home against Goldsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
