Football Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Pueblo South Colts
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Conifer can now relate to. They fell 50-42 to the Pueblo South Colts on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Lobos, who until this contest were averaging 9.55 points allowed.
Despite the loss, Conifer still got an impressive performance from Charlie Ostrowski, who threw for 246 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 97 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Ostrowski is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Solomon Washer was Ostrowski's top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and three TDs.
Pueblo South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Pisciotta out in front who picked up 219 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 219 receiving yards gave Pisciotta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caeden Herrera, who threw for 364 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt.
