Baseball Recap: Community Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Community Christian's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Greenville Christian Academy Knights. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cyclones as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Colby Barnhill made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Barnhill was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tyler Spivey was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Community Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian will head out to face off against New Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Living Water Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Greenville Christian Academy's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
